South Beloit, IL– The AMA sanctioned ASRA Sprint Series presented by Pirelli Tire joined the Championship Cup Series Mid-West Series Final at Blackhawk Farms Raceway to say hello to Fall and goodbye to the 2015 season for the CCS racers in the Mid-West.. With 157 riders accounting for 576 entries the season finale at Blackhawk Farms was looking like the days of old and Jason Farrell did his best to give the crowd a good dose of déjà vu with two wins on his Kawasaki ZX6R 636.

First out for the afternoon finals was SuperStock and it was Jason Farrell with the holeshot, leaving the rest of the field to battle it out for second position behind the Kawasaki rider. After 9 laps it was Drew Jankord coming in second on his Kawasaki ZX-10R followed by series regular David Loikits on his Suzuki GSX-R1000. With his third place finish Loikits captured his first ASRA SuperStock Championship with one race remaining in the series.

Rolling on to the course next was the ThunderBike class and Kevin Van Engen continued his performance from qualifying to secure the win on his Suzuki SV650, 13.990 seconds ahead of Jody Barry on his KTM RC390 who finished second. Third place was Jonathan White. on another Suzuki SV650. Finishing in eighth place was Massachusetts resident Doug Fogg who secured the 2015 ThunderBike Championship after falling short in two previous attempts.

After his performance against 1000cc machines, Jason Farrell’s competition lined up knowing their work was cut out for them if they were to de-throne the current lap record holder in the 9-lap contest.. While Carl Soltisz and Dan Ortega gave it a better effort that the SuperStock competitors, their battle was still for second place 6.801 seconds behind Farrell. The second position went to Soltisz on his Yamaha R-6 and third was Ortega also on a Yamaha R-6. The runner up finish for Soltisz moves him within striking distance of point leader Xavier Zayat. with the final round coming in Daytona October 16-18.

Amateur victories were scored by Brad Kueter in SuperStock, SportBike went to Mark Rhoades and Zayn Ardnt took the win in ThunderBike.

The final event in 2015 for the ASRA Sprint Series Presented by Pirelli Tire is October 18 at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach Florida.
