Fast by Ferracci is likely to make a return to the AMA Superbike Championship series in 2007, racing in the Superstock class with MV Agusta F4 1000s. That’s the word from Eraldo Ferracci, a former racer who led the Fast by Ferracci Ducati road race team to two Superbike World Championships and two AMA Superbike Championships in the early 1990s. Ferracci, who was at the AMA Superbike finale this past weekend at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course for meetings, told Roadracingworld.com that he was “80%” sure his team would return to AMA Pro road racing in 2007. Current plans call for a two-rider team with possibly one American rider and one Italian rider. The tire supplier has not been chosen yet, but Pirelli and Dunlop are the primary choices, based on rider preference. Ferracci said his team would have backing from the MV Agusta factory and would be very much like when he ran his past Ducati teams, including working out of the same straight truck and Willow Grove, Pennsylvania-based race shop. Ferracci and his potential riders are expected to test at Mid-Ohio in approximately two weeks. Ferracci’s son, Larry Ferracci, is the CEO of Cagiva USA, the exclusive North American importer of MV Agusta motorcycles.
