Fasttrax Recognizes Its 2007 Champions

CUYAHOGA FALLS, Ohio The bench-racing was fierce Friday at the Fasttrax 2007 Awards Banquet as the club’s 2007 sprint and endurance series’ class champions were revealed. Also at the event held at the Cuyahoga Falls’ Sheraton Inn and Conference Center, Eric Boettcher was honored as overall expert champion for the season and Dave Dispenza as overall novice champion, who will advance to expert status in the 2008 season. Both riders will carry the number “1” for the 2008 season Boettcher’s on a white plate with a black number and Dispenza’s a red number “1” on a white plate. The overall champions are decided by counting the best two finishes were weekend toward the championships. Class champions are based on the total number of points accumulated based on finish in each race of the seven-event series. A minimum of four races must be completed for a class championship. Ties in points are decided by the best finishes over the course of the season. Award winners by class in the sprint series are: Buell Thunderbike: 1st, Bill Smith, 280 points. Formula 40 Heavyweight Expert: 1st, Ron Ruppert, 175 points; 2nd, Dean Whittaker, 159 points; 3rd, Andrew Sexton, 147 points. Formula 40 Heavyweight Novice: 1st, Greg Massie. Formula 40 Light Expert: 1st, Lewis Rocchetti, 168 points; 2nd, William Rocchetti, 145 points; 3rd, Tim Batten, 115 points. Formula 40 Medium Novice: 1st, Jim Fear. GTI Expert: 1st, Michael Molnar, 177 points; 2nd, Lee Luchette, 120 points; 3rd, Jim Vaughn, 115 points. GTI Novice: 1st, Jeff Wrobel, 132 points; 2nd, Greg Massie, 119 points; 3rd, Rick Linde, 88 points. GTII Expert: 1st, Eric Boettcher, 210 points. GTII Novice: 1st, Dave Dispenza, 240 points; 2nd, David Ingram, 121 points; 3rd, John Noel Bartlett, 115 points. Middleweight: 1st, CamCool Racing, 196 points; 2nd, Team Two Goofs, 185 points; 3rd, Team Road Rage, 158 points. Lighweight: 1st, Team TDC, 205 points; 2nd, Team LLC, 130 points; 3rd, Team Racer RX, 130 points. Iron-Butt solo: 1st, Sam Williams (Team SCVR); ) 2nd, Larry McOskee (Team Bumblebee) 178 points; 3rd, Wayne Yurak (Wayne’s World Racing) , 126 points. The 30-minute solo mine-endurance season champions are: Lightweight: 1st, Tod Narduzzi, 143 points; 2nd, Bill Smith, 112 points; 3rd, Randy Grove, 105 points. Middleweight: Ron Ruppert, 162 points, 2nd, Lee Luchette, 116 points; 3rd, Kenneth Fischer, 84 points. Heavyweight: 1st, Daniel Shetler, 113 points; 2nd, Andrew Sexton, 105 points; 3rd, Michael Hall, 92 points.
