MotoGP teams stayed on after the 2019 season’s final race at Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia, Spain, to test new and revised parts and major components before
moving onto a stand-alone test at Jerez.
It will be different at the end of the 2020 season, when post-series-finale testing by MotoGP teams will be banned, giving teams a break before testing begins for the
2021 season. The move is designed to offset the additional time and travel teams will endure as new races join the schedule.
As MotoGP regulations have become more restrictive in recent years, radical change to the machines is rare. When the garages opened in Valencia on Tuesday morning,
the bikes that were wheeled onto the hot pit lane were visually quite similar to the motorcycles that had raced there two days prior.
Each manufacturer had specific ideas as to what needed improvement, and the bikes featured changes designed to address the weaknesses in their 2019 racing machines…
