6D Helmets co-founder Bob Weber is a lifelong motorcyclist and motocross racer who previously worked at White Brothers Performance Specialties and Petersen Publishing, where he was the publisher of Motorcyclist, Sport Rider, and Dirt Rider magazines for eight years.
Weber then went to work as Vice President/General Manager of Operations at Troy Lee Designs, which sells its own line of riding gear, including helmets. While working at Troy Lee Designs, Weber was inspired to go out on his own and try to create his own helmet company.
But rather than find a manufacturer that was already making helmets and was more than happy to put his name on them, Weber decided to go a different route and try to build a better helmet, one that addressed the rotational forces that cause some brain injuries …
