2004 Australian Superbike and Supersport Champion Adam ‘Krusty’ Fergusson, together with DVS Honda and support from Honda Australia, has formed an all-new distributor supported satellite team to launch an assault on the 2007 Australian Superbike Championship. “I am stoked to have been given this opportunity by Honda. I have always wanted my own team and now my dream has come true and I owe the guys at Honda a big thank you,” Fergusson said. “The new team is awesome. They are as determined as me and we fit together great, so it has all of the ingredients for a winning combination. Make no mistake, with the support that we have, and the desire within the team, we plan on regaining both of the titles that I won in 2004.” Krusty’s new team, DVS Honda, is part of an established engineering business based in Boronia in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne and is owned by Dave Krsevan and James Murray-Parkes. The team will contest both the Australian Superbike and Supersport Championships aboard Honda’s potent CBR1000RR as well as the all new 2007 Honda CBR600RR. DVS Co-Owner Dave Krsevan says, “From the first initial contact with Adam, we knew that this team was supposed to happen and we soon had the right team of people in place to make it all possible.” “The support we have received from Honda and major sponsorship from Oleon Oils and Lubricants, put us in a great position to hit the ground running in 07. The entire team structure is comprised of parties that will be actively contributing to our success.” “DVS are developing and launching our own shock units for racing and street bikes, so having someone of Adam’s calibre and experience come on board to assist development will make the job much easier.” The team’s major sponsor, Oleon Oils and Lubricants, have been doing a substantial amount of R & D with DVS over the past twelve months developing a range of oils and lubricants for the motorcycle and automotive industries. Oleon Managing Director, Shane Trovato could not be happier with the way things have progressed. “Oleon Oils and Lubricants has been a proud participant in the R & D exercises conducted thus far and the new team has turned up at precisely the right time for us to be able to expose our brand to the industry. It’s an exciting time for everyone associated. I’ve never been part of a more professional group of people, and I am very pleased to be the major sponsor of this fantastic new team.” DVS have also secured significant support in the form of communications sponsor, Clarkson McLaren and the deal will see the Telco – whose operations are based in both Sydney and Melbourne – provide financial and technical commitments. Clarkson McLaren Executive Director; Anthony Clarkson, says, “I am totally delighted to be delivering the news today that my company is committed to the support of this new and exciting venture, and we look forward to enjoying the fun and success that Krusty and the boys are bound to bring our business.” David Bacher, Michelin Australia, General Manager – Two Wheel Oceania, said Michelin are proud to be involved with a previous champion in Adam Fergusson. “As soon as we were alerted to the fact that Adam would have his own team we wanted to be involved. Michelin are looking forward to helping Adam with the relentless pursuit of victory in both classes for season 2007.” Krusty and the team will compete in the Superbike and Supersport Championship next year and will maintain a close relationship with the main Honda team, sharing testing time and working together in an effort to give Honda yet another Aussie title.
