KTM/HMC Racing’s Chris Fillmore has been ruled out of action for this weekend’s Triumph Superbike Classic at Barber Motorsports Park after crashing during the first National Guard Superbike practice and breaking and dislocating bones in his left hand. Fillmore suffered the injury when he crashed his KTM RC8 R in Turn Three within the first five minutes of the opening practice session. The session was red-flagged so Fillmore could receive medical attention. He was then transported by ambulance to Trinity Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama. “He definitely broke the hand in two places and dislocated some bones,” said KTM/HMC Racing Team Owner Mitch Hansen, who was with Fillmore at the hospital at the time Roadracingworld.com reached him on his cell phone. “I’m not 100% certain he’s going to need surgery on it, but I’d say it’s pretty likely he’s going to need some surgery. And he’s definitely done for the weekend.”
