Motul & FIM partners for the next 3 years Europe’s leading company in the field of motorcycle lubricants and lubrication, Motul, is delighted to announce that it has entered into a three-year partnership agreement with the governing body for motorcycle sport, the FIM (Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme). Today (Saturday 14 April), Hervé Amelot, Managing Director of Motul, and FIM President, Vito Ippolito, officially signed the contract that will see Motul become FIM’s official lubricant partner and official partner for the FIM Endurance World Championship. The signatures were put to paper just prior to the start of the opening round of the EWC, the prestigious 24-hour Bol d’Or at Magny-Cours. Motul is the specialist lubricant market leader in Europe. It has a presence in 85 countries worldwide, and motorcycling competition plays a key part in its marketing and sales strategies. The company’s Managing Director, Hervé Amelot, commented on the new partnership with the FIM: “This is the perfect synergetic partnership for Motul. We are well known for our understanding and expertise in the field of motor sport lubricants and the FIM is obviously the fount of all knowledge with regard to motorcycling. Our association brings these two knowledge ‘banks’ together for the good of the sport and we are delighted to have the opportunity to showcase our range of specialist products to an increasingly wide international audience.” Vito Ippolito, President of the FIM, said of the partnership, “We are delighted to welcome Motul as official lubricant partner to the FIM. We know the company well through their long association with major FIM World Championships such as MotoGP, Superbike, Endurance and Motocross. This partnership will truly allow our teams to share their respective expertise and we are looking forward to working hand in hand.” Motul’s standing and reputation in the FIM Endurance World Championship is unquestioned. For many years it has enjoyed a successful partnership with leading manufacturer representatives such as 13-time World Champions, the Suzuki Endurance Racing Team (SERT); the Suzuki team has been using Motul’s products exclusively since 2007. In addition to reigning champions SERT, Motul continues to support other teams in 2012, including Monster Energy Yamaha YART, the National Moto Team and, new from 2012, the Honda TT Legends team. International endurance racing is at the heart of Motul’s marketing strategy as it provides one of the best test beds and living research laboratories in which to prove its products’ reliability and superior performance. The machines are closer to production bikes and the large crowds of supporters and guests who attend the iconic events at Le Mans, the Bol d’Or and Suzuka, for example, can see first-hand what a difference such products can make. The World Championship, which takes in two rounds in France and one each in Qatar, Germany and Japan, fully reflects Motul’s own international network.
