SUZUKI ENDURANCE 2ND IN OSCHERSLEBEN 1ST DAY
SERT – GSX-R1000 – 2nd
Endurance World Championship leaders Suzuki Endurance Racing Team put the GSX-R1000 to second place today in the opening practice and qualifying sessions at Oschersleben in Germany ahead of Sunday’s penultimate round of the 2018-2019 EWC World Championship, the ‘8 Hours EWC Oschersleben’.
The 15-times EWC Champions were just 0.218 seconds from provisional pole with Vincent Philippe, Etienne Masson and Gregg Black setting a best combined time of 1:27.766 minutes at the 3.667km circuit.
Philippe set a time of 1:26.785, with Masson putting in a time of 1:26.822. Black then put in an even faster time of 1:26.693 ahead of tomorrow’s final qualifying sessions to determine the grid positions.
A total of 39 teams were on track today, the fastest being Team SRC Kawasaki France ,but a total of seven Suzuki GSX-R teams took part: No Limits Motor Team were 12th and third Superstock class competitors with series contenders, Junior Team LMS Suzuki 18th overall and fifth in the SST category.
Final qualifying takes place tomorrow (Saturday) between 11:00hrs and 12:20hrs local time, with Sunday’s race starting at 13:00hrs.
