2007 World Environment Day Celebrations at motorcycle events In order to celebrate the “World Environment Day”, the FIM and the motorcycle sport community demonstrated its involvement in and concerns for the preservation of the environment at FIM events which took place last weekend, prior to the “2007 World Environment Day” on June 5. These events took place in particular during the Trial World Championship round in Motegi (Japan), the SuperMoto World Championship round in Villars-sous-Ecot (France), the Motogp Italian Grand Prix in Mugello, and in countries like El Salvador, South Africa, etc. The FIM will continue its involvement in preserving the environment, working notably on the diminution of the impact of motorcycling events. Its involvement increased recently by creating a working group for studying alternative energies to fossil, non-renewable fuels.
