Five riders are testing tires with Dunlop at Daytona today and tomorrow. The Superbike riders on site are Josh Hayes on his Monster Yamaha YZF-R1 and Blake Young on his Yoshimura Suzuki GSX-R1000. The Daytona SportBike riders on site are Garrett Gerloff and Cameron Beaubier on their Y.E.S. YZF-R6 Yamahas and Dane Westby on his M4 Suzuki GSX-R600. The light turnout reflects current economic conditions affecting the AMA Pro paddock. More to follow. This just in: According to AMA Pro Racing Timing & Scoring monitors on pit lane, Josh Hayes’ best lap while testing Dunlop tires on the Daytona International Speedway short course today was a 1:38.362. Blake Young’s best time was a 1:38.473. At post time, both riders are done for the day. More: With about 30 minutes left in the afternoon Daytona SportBike sessions on the long course, Westby was fastest at 1:51.154, followed by Beaubier at 1:51.214 and Gerloff at 1:52.663. Still More: At the end of the afternoon Daytona SportBike sessions on the long course, Beaubier was fastest at 1:49.881, followed by Westby at 1:50.456 and Gerloff at 1:51.795.
