FIXI Crescent Suzuki’s John Hopkins has been forced to withdraw from the rest of this weekend’s proceedings at the final round of the 2012 eni FIM Superbike World Championship at Magny-Cours in France. Hopkins is still struggling with the hip injury he suffered earlier this season and the layout and technical demands of the 4,411m French circuit have made it impossible for him to continue. Hopkins ended this morning’s final qualifying session early and after careful consideration and discussions with the team, he took the tough decision to abandon any further attempts to race this weekend. Further information on his condition will be announced soon. FIXI Crescent Suzuki will now have a single representative at this weekend’s final event of the season. Leon Camier will be flying the flag and hoping to celebrate the good news of the extension to his contract with two strong performances in Sunday’s races.
