Floyd Emde’s Daytona-Winning Indian Scout To Be Auctioned March 16 In DeLand, Florida

The 1948 Big Base Indian Scout that Floyd Emde rode to victory on the Daytona Beach course in 1948 will be offered at the 25th Annual Daytona Antique and Classic Auction by J. Wood and Company. The auction will take place at the Volusia County Fairgrounds in DeLand on Friday, March 16. The auction is set to start at 11AM. In addition to The 1948 Daytona winning bike we will have the Ferracci Ducati that was ridden by Freddie Spencer in the AMA Superbike Series. Other road-racing machinery consigned to the auction include a 1974 Yamaha TZ700, a 1987 Yamaha TZ250 and a 1956 Triumph TR5R. Photos and information can be found at www.daytonaauction.com. The event will be open to the public March 14 through 16, 8AM to 6PM each day. The Fairgrounds are located on RT44 in Deland just west of I-4. There will be signs directing people to the J. Wood and Co Auction.
