Former AMA Pro racer Deano Swims says he is getting married to “the love of my life” Wednesday in Atlanta, Georgia. Swims, now 56, was an AMA Pro in the 1980s, racing a Honda Superbike and also competing on a Yamaha in AMA/CCS endurance series events held in conjunction with AMA Nationals at the time. Swims met Margaret Janowska, 42, while competing in the January 2013 Phillip Island Classic event held at Phillip Island, Australia, where he was the top-finishing American. Swims said the couple has not decided whether to live in the U.S. or in Australia, where the future Ms. Swims works as an engineer during the week and serves as a cornerworker on race weekends.
