Racers Who Care spokesracer and retired American Motorcyclist Association Pro Superbike competitor, Dean Mizdal, is to share career tips with Sierra Vista Middle School students in Covina, California, on April 1, 2011, at 8:00 a.m. Recently described by Cycle World Magazine as having competed in every AMA Superbike race “since time immemorial,” the very competitive Dean Mizdal, also owns and operates, along with partner M’greene, M Racing, a full-service motorcycle tuning, maintenance and performance shop based in Glendora, California. “I question myself all the time: Why do I do this?” he has observed. “Then you get to the racetrack and you remember. I can’t describe what it means to work this hard, to try your hardest, then you beat a certain amount of guys with what you’ve got. There’s nothing else like it.” Widely known as the “AMA Proracing’s most renowned privateer,” as reported by Motorsport.com, “He began riding motorcycles as a pre-teen, and has been racing for [now over 26] years. Being a privateer means having to do the work yourself — from getting to each race to building a fast engine. Mizdal became an expert at crafting engines and building bikes, so he started building them for other riders to fund his career. Dean’s motors are highly sought after by riders in AMA, WERA, AFM, and WSMC,” Motorsport.com reported. “The M Racing Performance shop is inseparable from the race effort and vice versa,” M’greene says. In addition to AMA, M Racing supports several local club racers contesting on the WERA, AFM, CCS and WSMC race series. “We offer trackside coaching, suspension set-up and performance tuning to our customers who race.” Mizdal’s positive, never give up, spirit is greatly admired and looked up to by fellow racers. Kristi Martel, of Los Angeles, California-based Glamazon Racing, once said of Mizdal: “[O]ne day, while faced with a decision that would determine whether I was a weenie or not, I asked myself a question that seemed to stick: ‘What Would Dean Mizdal Do?’ It instantly began to guide me towards the kind of life that other people would shake their heads at (Read: Awesome) . . . Basically, Dean Mizdal is the next Chuck Norris. . . and embodies the kind of guts that put the rest of us in our place.” “He makes the impossible look easy,” she continued. Mizdal and M Racing also have a special dedication to encouraging young street racers off the roads and onto race tracks “where their performance tuned machinery can truly be appreciated.” A former instructor for the STAR racing school, Mizdal is currently turning his talents towards mentoring the racing career of M Racing’s newest expert rider Wes Kane.
