Milwaukee, Wi. (October 8th, 2009) – Shawn Conrad, 1999 AMA Pro Thunder champion, will be racing a Wforacingonline.com/Eagle Harley-Davidson XR1200 in the Battle of the Twins Formula 1 and Sound of Thunder classes at the final round of the AHRMA Michigan Engineering Historic Cup National Road Race Series, set for Oct. 10-11 at Barber Motorsports Park near Birmingham, Ala. Conrad’s past 883 Twinsport experience and AMA Pro Thunder championship credentials will be valuable to the team as they continue to develop the XR1200 as a racing platform, with a close eye on the rumored XR1200 AMA Pro Racing spec class. WFOracingonline.com team principal Leah Orloff: “We are thrilled to have Shawn riding our Harley-Davidson XR1200. We are in an early stage of development of the race bike, and Shawn’s experience and feedback will be invaluable in providing direction for further improvement. We are very interested to see the direction AMA Pro Racing takes on a possible spec series, and feel we will have a competitive package with Shawn and the XR if it goes the direction we hope.’ In addition to Shawn, 2009 Formula 2 Pacific Crown Regional champion and chief XR fabrication specialist Rick Goldberg will be racing the XR1200 in the Battle of the Twins Formula 2 class.
