Former AMA Pro Thunder Champion Montano To Race Ducati In West Coast Rounds Of AMA Formula Xtreme Championship

From a press release issued by Matt Green: Outside industry sponsors, StrongMail Systems and Rolling Thunder Group are backing a two rider Northern California privateer racing team in the four western rounds of the AMA’s 2008 Formula Extreme Championship. Veteran Isle of ManTT campaigner and 2001 AMA Pro-Thunder Champion Tom Montano, along with veteran AFM racer Matt Green, will ride Ducati 749R/848’s prepared by Scott Jenkins, owner of San Francisco based performance shop, Desmoto Sport. “We are very excited to be part of this racing effort,” said Sam Cece, CEO of StrongMail Systems, the leading provider of on-premise solutions for marketing and transactional email. “I see a team that is professional, passionate and highly focused qualities I value in our business.” “It’s great to see this kind of support and enthusiasm for our sport coming from the information technology industry,” said Tom Montano. Ken Hill, veteran AMA, AFM racer and Freddie Spencer Riding School instructor, will act as Team Advisor and work closely with Crew Chief, Scott Jenkins to ensure both riders and bikes are race ready.
