EBR Erik Buell Racing WSBK and Road racing icons for sale

Even if Erik Buell’s last chapter did not ultimately lead to an economical success, the last years of his work with the V-Twin from East Troy / Wisconsin mark for sure the peak of his attempts to build the ultimate American Sportsbike. From 2013 on, the race program ramped up internationally with the EBR 1190 RS and John Dimbylow´s Splitlath motorsport on the Isle of Man TT and Macau GP. For the 2014 season, EBR announced to join even the World Superbike Series where rider Geoff May and Aaron Yates completed the first WSBK season for Erik Buell Racing.

For 2015, the team announced Niccolò Canepa and Larry Pegram as riders, but in the middle of the season, with the bikes ready prepared for the next round in Imola, investor and name giving team sponsor HERO decided to discontinue the cooperation in 2015, so Team HERO EBR was forced to withdraw over night from the World Championship.

UK based Splitlath Motorsport jumped in and continued in 2015 and 2016 as factory race team with US riders Mark Miller, Cory West and Shelina Morena on the Isle of Man, Macau and very successfully in China.

NCCR in Sweden, owned by the Krüper family, well known for their engagement in the Buell world for more than 2 decades, offer now the bikes and other inventory from the final race programs of Erik Buell Racing.

Prices start a 35.000€ for the RS bikes and at 45.000€ for the WSBK.

Jens Krüper of NCCR “It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity to have this stock of bikes and parts on hand, the Buell world needs to thank John Dimbylow of Splitlath Motorsport for holding these things together all these years. It’s just amazing, these 10 bikes and the huge amount of parts are the essence of Erik’s work with the V-Twins and outstanding pieces of Motorsport history”.

John Dimbylow of Splitlath Motorsport, “I really didn’t want any of the equipment to go, particularly the bikes as I had formed such an affinity with the brand and the guys at East Troy, it was such a pleasure to work with them and to be part of the development of such incredible pioneering machinery. The bikes had become part of me and what was the most enjoyable few years of racing that I had. We are very proud of what we achieved with Erik Buell, but the bikes were just gathering dust and I decided that they would have a better life with Owners who would use them or cherish them in a better way than I could”.

Julia Krüper Technician at NCCR, “The parts inventory is huge and it will take us some time to list it all online. Also, we first like to see what parts will go with the bikes. As we are hoping for buyers who actually use the bikes, we expect at least one set of spare wheels to go with each of them. It’s cool to have all the last factory technologies finally here in house and we will surely learn a lot for our future projects with the 1190 engine”.

Birgit Krüper CEO at NCCR, “All bikes will be delivered race ready with full historical and technical documentation. For some bikes we even have the original trophies and posters. The plan is also to run a program of Racing Memorabilia, what will include used parts, posters and art to honor this latest chapter of Buell Factory motorsport”.
