Renegade Race Fuel / Toby Baptiste & Valor LLC sued for fraud, misrepresentation & breach of contract in federal court.
Josh Pitts, the former head of research and development for Renegade Race Fuel, has sued Renegade Race Fuel brand owner Toby Baptiste and Valor Oil the company behind the production and sales of Renegade Race Fuels.
After six years developing products and establishing valuable relationships in the industry on behalf of Renegade and Valor Oil, Josh Pitts’ lawsuit alleges that Baptiste and Valor Oil (Valor LLC) induced him into performing services that built value, credibility and following for the Renegade brand without true intent to compensate him as promised. The suit further alleges that Baptiste purposely generated agreements throughout Pitts’ tenure with the organization to secure performance by Pitts that Baptiste failed to honor.
Unfortunately, Valor, Renegade, Baptiste and their representatives failed to ensure that the compensation owed to Pitts for his work was accounted for, reported and paid out to him. For example, while the sales and market share of the Renegade Racing Fuels increased year after year, Pitts was repeatedly told and/or shown accounting documents indicating that there were “no gross profits” upon which to pay commissions and other compensation he rightfully earned for his work.
After reporting Baptiste’s wrongful actions to Valor LLC, Valor president Gary Emmick acknowledged that he (Pitts) had been wronged, yet failed to make him whole as he represented he would do.
After achieving impressive strides in the race fuel market space, the suit also alleges that the highly effective sales team experienced a similar trend of being under compensated. To date this has lead to the departure of ten of the eleven original race fuel staff.
