(January 10, 2009 Aurora, IL) Ken Abbott has moved forward after involvement with the Jordan Suzuki AMA Superbike racing team and Feld Motor Sports (formerly Live Nation, Clear Channel, SFX, and Pace Motor Sports) to create a Media and PR firm called Globetrotter Sports which will focus on several different motor sports properties and local charities. Abbott has been involved in the road race industry since 1987 as a racer, track safety coordinator, crew chief, race announce, and Dunlop Race Tire Service until 2000. He was hired by (then) PACE Motor Sports group to manage the Formula USA national road race series, in addition to the development of the advertising, sponsor sales, marketing, and media promotional campaigns for F-USA and CCS (road race championships) until the end of 2004. In February of 2004 Abbott was asked to pull double-duty and was also assigned to work with the Michael Jordan Motorsports program, which over the years has led uncompromised media and promotional campaigns that have set new standards for the industry. After 5 years of service and winning the 2008 AMA Superstock Championship with the Jordan Suzuki team, he has now moved on to create a new Marketing, Media, and PR firm in the Chicago area called Globetrotter Sports. “This allows for the fulfillment of several of my own dreams and ambitions, as well as to help my friends and colleagues accomplish their own personal and professional goals inside and outside the motor sports industry.” Abbott said. Globetrotter Sports is currently working on several great projects including some community charities, some 2-wheeled and 4-wheel programs, working with several diverse athletes and teams, a great motor sport themed destination in Sothern California called Speed School, and even a spear fishing team in Florida. “The goal is to help increase the value of our promotional partners, and match them up with other strong marketing organizations, to create long-lasting relationships, and increase everyone’s black at the bottom line.” Abbott added, “We will do that in several different ways, but we will provide a full service agency including website management, media training, sponsorship sales and management, press release and PR services, and media coordination, in addition to professional training tools like a nutritionist, sports trainer, riding and driving coaches, etc.” Globetrotter’s primary objective is to create a “paradigm shift” in the motor sports industry. We’ve all seen the same lack of results year after year, where few have been able to create significant value, out-perform their competitors, and set new industry expectations. Globetrotter intends to create that shift, calling on their talented clients and long-lasting relationships with racing venues, consumer product lines, and media outlets to set a new bar for delivered value. The specialty is finding the proper strategic position for each organization to maximize their value, and diversify their inventory. There are obviously tons of opportunities right now for any level of support, and specific to an organization’s marketing goals, target demographics, and company objectives.
