Former racer and Fastrack Riders Operations Manager David Shaverdi died today, July 29th after a battle with cancer. He was 43 years old and is survived by four sons, Valentino, Joseph, David and Giovanni. He married his girlfriend Lorena Vizcarra last Saturday, July 25th.

In an e-mail to Roadracing World, former Fastrack Riders owner David Pyles wrote, “Dave Shaverdi passed away at a hospice facility on the campus of The Mayo Clinic outside of Phoenix, Arizona early this morning. I was over there for a few days but left yesterday as they were going to transport Dave back to a hospice in the Riverside area. Mayo (doctors then) concluded Dave was in such poor condition that they could not move him that far so they moved Dave to a hospice facility on the same campus as The Mayo Clinic. I don’t have any other details but a sad day for sure.”

Shaverdi was diagnosed with liver and stomach cancer last February and his friends in the motorcycle community quickly organized fund-raisers and raffled off donated products and services–including a KTM RC390 donated by KTM North America.

Shaverdi helped organize the GEICO Motorcycle Superbike Shootout Presented By Yamaha event held in conjunction with Fastrack Riders and WERA in April of 2014.

Additional information will be posted as it becomes available.

God Speed, David Shaverdi.
