FLEETWOOD, Pa. Chris Carr and the Ford Quality Checked Certified Pre-owned program announced today that its run at the motorcycle land speed record (322 mph) with the BUB streamliner will be documented in its entirety on SPEED. Next week’s event, the FIM/AMA Sports International Motorcycle Speed Trials by BUB (Sept. 3-7), at the legendary Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah, will be shot by longtime motorcycle television event producer Chet Burks (Chet Burks Productions) and narrated by the most recognizable voice in the motorcycle industry Dave Despain from SPEED. “I love Bonneville because it’s the last bastion of unlimited racer innovation and ingenuity,” said Despain. “If you can imagine it and build it, then Bonneville is the place to see how fast it will go. The idea of doing 350 mph on two wheels is pretty outrageous on the face of it. And as far as I’m concerned this is an absolute ‘must see’ on SPEED.” Burks intends to pull out all the stops on this event to give SPEED viewers a bird’s eye view of this once-a-year event at one of the most unique places on the planet. “We’re bringing in everything from helicopters both manned and remote control to HD cameras to document this historic event,” said Burks. “Top that with Dave Despain joining in understanding he doesn’t do many of these shows and you’ve got the potential for a great program for SPEED viewers. I really want to thank our production partner Dick Legue and Ignition3 Productions. Dick brought this project to our attention a long time ago and I believe we’ve put together a great production team for this historic event.” For his part, Chris Carr the five-time defending AMA Ford Quality Checked Flat Track champion and current AMA Twins class points leader is pumped to be taking the controls of the BUB streamliner in an attempt at the motorcycle land speed record. “It’s not every day you get an opportunity to attempt a land speed record,” said Carr. “Having that chance is something I’m looking very forward to attempting, as well as having the attempt documented for posterity purposes by SPEED, Dave Despain and Chet Burks. You can bet we’ll be doing everything we can to break this record but not to set the bar so high that we can’t go back after it again next year (laughter).” For more information on the Sept. 3-7 F FIM/AMA Sports International Motorcycle Speed Trials by BUB, link to: www.speedtrialsbybub.com For more information regarding the air date/time for Chris Carr’s run at the motorcycle land speed record on the BUB streamliner, keep an eye on www.SPEEDtv.com Next up for Chris Carr and the Ford Quality Checked team is this weekend’s running of the Springfield (Ill.)
