Foster Foundation Contribution to Action Fund Carries On Commitment To Improving Rider Safety

The Joseph C. and Esther Foster Foundation has contributed a grand total of $22,000 over five years to the Roadracing World Action Fund, with its latest donation of $1000 carrying on its tradition of support for safety. Managing Director Daniel F. Haft wrote, “On behalf of the Board of Director of the Foster Foundation, I am pleased to enclose our annual contribution of $1000. This is now year five of our commitment to help your organization bring airfencing and other safety technology to motorcycle road racing at all levels around the country, including here at Sandia Motorsports Park in Albuquerque.”

AMA Superbike Champion Ben Spies and his mom/manager Mary Spies spurred a frenzy of donations earlier this year by pledging to match donations up to $10,000 and $5000, respectively. More than $17,000 in donations poured in in response to the offer. Continuing his support for the Fund, Spies recently held a silent auction on his website with the proceeds split between the Action Fund and Spies’ late Grandfather’s charity, Love for Kids. To date the auction has yielded $225 for the Action Fund.

The Roadracing World Action Fund has received donations totaling $507,520.64 since its founding in 2001.
