By Don Emde Gary Nixon 1941-2011 Legendary motorcycle racer Gary Nixon was laid to rest near his home in Cockeysville, Maryland on Thursday, August 11th. Nixon passed away on August 5th following surgery to repair damage from a heart attack he had recently suffered. Following a viewing the previous evening, attendees gathered at the Lemmon Funeral Home in Timonium for a Celebration of Life. Speakers included Kary Ann Nixon, Don Emde, Erv Kanemoto and Jay Springsteen, among other friends who shared both serious and light-hearted memories of Gary.
