Luke Hedger and Mason Law Sign for the Gearlink Kawasaki Supersport Team

Gearlink Kawasaki is very pleased to announce some of their plans for the 2016 season. They will run two Kawasaki ZX-6Rs in the British Supersport Championship with former Superstock 600 Champion Luke Hedger and newly crowned Superstock 600 Champion Mason Law.

Gearlink Kawasaki has always been heavily involved in bringing new young riders through the ranks and once again will field two young promising riders next season. Their 2015 rider Glenn Irwin has just recently signed for one of the most sought after rides in the paddock with the Paul Bird Ducati team. 19-year-old Luke Hedger re-joined the team quarter of the way through the 2015 season and consistently secured strong top ten results in every race and is more than capable of achieving podium places next year.

Mason Law, who has just turned 20, was nearly untouchable in the Superstock 600 class in 2015 gaining 10 podiums along the way, winning the class by 59 points. He is eager to now step up into the main Supersport class with the Gearlink Kawasaki team, learn and secure some good results.

Michael de Bidaph – Team Principal – “I am delighted to have signed Luke and Mason to compete in the British Supersport for the 2016 race season.

Whilst I am sure it will be another extremely competitive year I feel that with these two young riders we will be able to achieve podiums and once again our aim is to put everything into winning the Supersport Championship.

I am sure that they will push each other all the way so it will certainly be an exciting year.”

Luke Hedger – “I am so happy to be back with the Gearlink Kawasaki again for 2016, this next season will be my fourth with them. I am really looking forward to putting all my effort into the forthcoming year and I will be trying my hardest all year to achieve strong results. I must say a huge thank you to my sponsors especially SRS and my parents for always backing me. It is great to be back on the grid and there are many people to thank for that. I can’t wait to get started – roll on April!”

Mason Law – “2015 was an awesome season for many reasons. I finally managed to win the Superstock 600 Championship and I managed to learn a lot about myself through the duration of the season. I found out what I need and what is not necessary throughout the year and one of the main things was being surrounded by a good team, something I have never had before and it was a huge benefit to me.

I am extremely looking forward to the 2016 season as I will be joining a team that I have wanted to ride for since I entered the BSB paddock, Gearlink Kawasaki. Michael and Norma have a wealth of experience in this game and for me to make the step up to Supersport I felt the need to at least get in contact with them because I know that on the right bike and with the right team, good things can be achieved. I was fortunate to already have Kawasaki behind me putting some plans together without me knowing, whilst my stock 600 campaign was still in full motion. After completing my 2015 goal I was able to have a good meeting with Michael and Norma and we are now in the process of planning a testing programme so that we can arrive at round one at Silverstone with everything already in place to give it our all.”
