SONOMA, Calif. (April 30) — A new team and a new pro road racing season have GEICO Motorcycle Honda SportBike rider Jake Zemke hungry for a win heading into every race weekend, including round two of the GEICO Motorcycle Superbike Shootout, May 3-4, during the Arai Pacific Nationals at Sonoma Raceway.

Zemke, the 2008 Formula Xtreme champion, has seen much success throughout his 21-year career in the AMA Pro Road Racing Series. He is credited with 23 wins since 2002, and he hopes the transition to the GEICO Motorcycle team will help return him to his winning ways.

“The expectations for the 2014 season are to get up on the podium and fight for wins every chance we possibly get,” Zemke said. “This is my first season with the GEICO Motorcycle team and this is their first year running a Honda SportBike. Because of this, we definitely have some developmental work to do throughout this season to see where the guys were with the bike last year and how we can improve. There is always room for improvement with the motorcycle, and we intend to do everything possible to make sure we are at the front where we belong.”

Like Zemke, the GEICO Motorcycle team is not a stranger to success in the AMA Pro Road Racing Series. The potential for achievement between the two is unbelievable and both parties are ready to take advantage of that.

“The GEICO Motorcycle team has obviously produced championships in the past and so have I,” Zemke said. “With that kind of history and talent, we’re looking to recreate those results. The team and myself expect to be successful and strive to always be battling it out at the front of the field. With hard work and continued progress, I’m sure we can get there.”

Zemke will look to continue his quest for success this weekend in Sonoma during the second round of the GEICO Motorcycle Superbike Shootout.
