ezVerify/Turbo Turtle Racing Honda, one of the newest teams running in MotoAmerica AMA/FIM North America Road Racing, is changing its Superbike rider lineup ahead of the season finale September 11-13 at New Jersey Motorsports Park.
“We’ve brought Geoff May on board,” Team Owner Gerry Glass exclusively told Roadracingworld.com Friday, before adding that he had released his two existing Superbike riders. “We wish two riders good luck, obviously Danny Eslick and Stefano Mesa. Stefano is a great rider and Danny is a great rider, but we’re just going in a different direction to finish the season and to get ready for next year.
“So Geoff May will be racing with us on a Honda Superbike and Ryan Cabrera will remain in Superstock 600. Geoff is actually racing for us this weekend [at Roebling Road Raceway] in Savannah, Georgia. We’ve committed to him for New Jersey, and based on that we’re going to see what we’re going to do for the following year.
“We are [still] running Hondas for right now, but we will be making a change [of machinery] next year. We will be in the paddock next year.
“Like every team that gets into this, each season is a growing experience. We are looking to move to what we believe will be a more competitive bike for the MotoAmerica series.
“I think these changes will be good for our team. The riders we’ve had, we think the world of them and we think they’re exceptional riders. But a team has to take the path it feels is best for the coming years.”
