DENVER, Colo. (April 18, 2012) – M1 PowerSports is proud to announce that two impressive Georgia natives will sing the National Anthem during this weekend’s Triumph Big Kahuna Nationals presented by Dunlop Tire and LeoVince. The event begins on Friday at Braselton, Georgia’s Road Atlanta and will feature AMA Pro Road Racing action in the doubleheader format that made the Original Big Kahuna events so special. Local artist Lauren Cox will be singing on Saturday and Chief Jeffrey Simmons of the Georgia Army National Guard will be doing the honors on Sunday. “We know that there are so many amazingly talented artists that hail from the state of Georgia and we wanted to bring in some local stars for the Big Kahuna Atlanta,” said Cameron Gray, CEO of M1 PowerSports. “Lauren and Jeffrey are perfect for representing our great nation and we are looking forward to hearing them sing the greatest song ever written during opening ceremonies at this weekend’s event.” Lauren Cox is an Atlanta-based artist taking her career to a new level with this weekend’s national anthem performance. She self-produced her first album at the young age of 20 and hopes listeners enjoy her music as much as she enjoys making it. With crisp vocals and stunning looks, she’ll show the audience exactly why she belongs in the spotlight. Fans can look forward to watching this local talent show Atlanta why she belongs in the mainstream music industry during opening ceremonies on Saturday, scheduled to begin at 12:20 p.m. Chief Jeffrey Simmons will perform the National Anthem at 11:50 a.m. during opening ceremonies for Sunday’s race. A native of La Fayette, Georgia, Simmons has been serving our great country since 1985. His impressive achievements include 10 years of active duty for the National Guard as a helicopter mechanic and 18 years as a part of the Georgia Army National Guard. Simmons was one of our nation’s heroes during Operation Iraqi Freedom, taking tours from 2003-2004 and is currently assigned as an Officer Strength Manager with Delta Company in the Georgia Army National Guard’s Recruiting and Retention Battalion. Tickets for the Triumph Big Kahuna Atlanta begin at just $20 and that event is just the first of three M1 PowerSports-promoted events on the 2012 AMA Pro Road Racing calendar which make up the 2012 Triumph Big Kahuna Triple Crown.
