Sete Gibernau, 35, was presented as the rider for the new ONDE2000 Ducati satellite team at a press conference today in Valencia, Spain. Gibernau retired from MotoGP at the end of the 2006 season, but he was lured back into MotoGP with a test on Ducati’s Desmosedici during the middle of the 2008 season. That test led to additional tests with Ducati, during which Gibernau turned competitive lap times. Gibernau will run the number 59 on his Desmosedici GP09 in 2009. Gibernau has nine 500cc/MotoGP race wins to his credit.
