Irvine, Calif. Advanstar Communications, Inc. a leading provider of integrated media solutions for the powersports industry, recently announced GPSO “Biker Down” Motorcycle Crash Sensor as the grand-prize Dealer’s Choice Award winner in the Fourth Annual Dealer Expo Kickstart New Product Contest, held in conjunction with the 2011 Dealer Expo in Indianapolis, Indiana. The competition recognizes the hottest new products in the powersports industry based on innovation, design and manufacturing quality, marketability, and distinction in the marketplace. The GPSO “Biker Down” Motorcycle Crash Sensor is a multi-functional GPS real time tracking and monitoring device. This is ideal for the rider who crashes off road or in a remote area, out of the line of sight, day or night, is injured or unconscious, cannot be seen, or needs to make an emergency call from his phone. The impact of a crash will send an alert to a 24-hour monitoring center, which then calls the rider’s cell phone and if no answer, will automatically activate the 911 system sending emergency medical services to the latitude and longitude of the crash. GPSO “Biker Down” Motorcycle Crash Sensor is an all in one device with anti-theft ignition shut down, owner viewing of the device location, speed, distance and stops and starts information. The device is waterproof, making it perfect for mounting on motorcycles, snowmobiles, ATVs and jet skis and the device is transferrable from one to the other. “I have been a motorcycle rider since I was 11 years old and realize that at some point every rider goes down,” said Recontrak GPS Systems Chief Operating Officer Michael Botos, Sr. “It’s great to have the product sell but if we can save just one person’s life by speeding up the location time of a down rider, it’s all worth it. We believe this is the most important motorcycle safety product since the helmet.” “Being a winner in the 2011 Dealer Expo Kickstart Contest and displaying our new product at Dealer Expo has proved to be an invaluable experience,” said Botos. “We were able to introduce thousands of dealers and distributors to our product, meet members of the media and, most importantly, sign up dealers from across the country to carry GPSO Crash Sensors in their shops. The amount of exposure we received by being at Dealer Expo and the overwhelmingly positive response from dealers that visited our display has been phenomenal.” As the grand-prize winner of the Dealer’s Choice Award, GPSO “Biker Down” Motorcycle Crash Sensors will receive a free 10×10 booth at the 2012 Dealer Expo, set to take place Friday, February 17 to Sunday February 19, 2012, at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis, Indiana.
