Live SPEED TV coverage of a Grand-Am car race at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course featured a multitude of cars spinning into the gravel as rain hit the sealer-laced historic racetrack at about 5:15 p.m. local time Saturday. With scenes of sliding cars and tow trucks on screen, television commentators explained how slippery and “treacherous” the course was when wet, and how easy it was to crash. Among the drivers backed into the gravel traps was J.C. France, son of DMG principal Jim France.
