Riders relax with beach volleyball fun ahead of Catalunya MotoGP™ racing

A group of six World Championship riders warmed up for the Gran Premi Monster Energy de Catalunya on Wednesday with a spot of beach volleyball in the beautiful city of Barcelona.

The friendly 3vs3 beach volleyball match at the city’s Barceloneta beach saw ‘Team Tramontana’ of Pol Espargaro, Tito Rabat and Jonas Folger triumph over ‘Team Garbi’ of Jordi Torres, Romano Fenati and Alex Rins.

The match took place in front of the Gallito Restaurant in the glorious Mediterranean sunshine, with Gallito providing the beach volleyball facility for the big showdown. With Grand Prix riders being a competitive bunch there was no shortage of effort as the match featured some spectacular dives and plays, with Team Tramontana eventually emerging on top.

Earlier in the day Espargaro, Rabat, Rins and Torres had attended the presentation of the Gran Premi Monster Energy de Catalunya at Barcelona City Hall, with the likes of Marc Marquez, Aleix Espargaro, Maverick Viñales, Isaac Viñales, Alex Marquez, Ricky Cardus, Axel Pons, and wild-card Maria Herrera also in attendance.
