AMA Sanctioned

ASRA Team Challenge Series Presented by Michelin Tire

September 20, 2015

Virginia international Raceway

Alton, VA

The AMA sanctioned ASRA Team Challenge Series presented by Michelin Tire joined the Championship Cup Series and the AMA Road Race Grand Championships at Virginia international Raceway to bid goodbye to Summer. With 20 AMA Championships up for grabs and 42 CCS Mid-Atlantic /Southeast Championships to be settled the ASRA Team Challenge could have easily been over shadowed if not for the changes to the championships one round can bring.

The Grease Monkey Racing (Erich Helmbach, Scott Harwell) team took advantage of LB Sports (Dustin Young) problems and grabbed both the Overall and the GTO class wins. The victory gives GMR a 15 point lead in the Overall with 1 round left.

The North Carolina based Jinba Ittia (Joel Lenk, Matt Brown) took the win in GTU and secured their first ASRA GTU National Championship with one round remaining in the series.

Coming to VIR the LWT Racer #61 team (Sam Wiest, Brian Kcraget) knew it was going to be a tough battle to win the 2015 ASRA GTL Championship but with a little luck and another tough day for the Mavros Motorsports Squad (Charlie Mavros, Seth Starnes), it is LWT Racer #61 who is going to the final round with a 6 point lead for the title.

The final event in 2015 for the ASRA Team Challenge Series Presented by Michelin Tire is October 16 at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach Florida.
