ALTON, Va. (August 20, 2007) – Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Jamie Hacking was taken to the hospital shortly after the final AMA Superbike race on Sunday at Virginia International Raceway as a precautionary measure to treat possible dehydration. After racing back to back events on Sunday, Hacking debriefed and returned to his motor home where he complained of feeling weak and a little nauseous. With the weather conditions being hot and humid, taking precautions was felt to be the best thing for the defending AMA Supersport champion. “Kawasaki and Jamie’s family felt with the heat and possible dehydration, it was best to have him checked out at the hospital. He was hooked up to an IV, had a few blood tests, and was immediately released from the hospital.” All the test results reported that Hacking was in good health and he was able to travel home to Denver, N.C. on Monday.
