MIAMI UNIVERSITY HALL OF FAME COACH DAVE JENNINGS NAMED GRAND MARSHAL OF BUCKEYE SUPERBIKE WEEKEND Lexington, Ohio native to be honored on Saturday, July 13 LEXINGTON, OHIO (July 8, 2013) – Lexington, Ohio native and Miami Redhawk Hall of Fame Women’s swimming and diving coach Dave Jennings has been named the Grand Marshal of the Buckeye SuperBike Weekend presented by Dunlop Tires for Saturday, July 13. The winningest coach in Miami University athletic history will be back home for the longest running series at Mid-Ohio. Jennings is a Lexington High School graduate and was born and raised in Lexington. Jennings attended college locally at Ashland University where he competed in the NCAA Division III Championship and graduated in 1978. “Being from Lexington, it is a great honor to be Grand Marshal of the SuperBike weekend at Mid-Ohio,” Jennings said. “I’m really looking forward to the races and spectacle of the weekend.” Jennings began his coaching career at Coshocton High School, where he led the school to a conference championship. He then moved on to Upper Arlington High School, where he was voted Ohio Coach of the Year in 1982. At Miami, Jennings won 16 Mid-American Conference team titles in his 31 years as the women’s swimming and diving coach with the Redhawks. He was inducted to the Miami Athletic Hall of Fame in 1996. The ten-time Mid-American Conference coach of the year award winner has also coached 33 NCAA Qualifiers and 13 Olympic Trial Qualifiers. “We are excited to have Dave here at Mid-Ohio for Buckeye SuperBike Weekend,” said Craig Rust, Mid-Ohio president. “It’s great to see people who grew up in our backyard go onto accomplish great things, like Dave did at Miami University.” Weekend tickets start at $60.
