(Pebble Beach, CA)- Hardcard Holdings, LLC, announced today that AMA Superbike Series hopeful, Ben Thompson, has signed an agreement with Hardcard for management representation. Hardcard, led by industry veterans and company co-founders, Andy Leisner and John Farris, specializes in consulting, sales, marketing and brand management services connected to the motorsports industry. Hardcard has joined with AMA and MotoGP paddock regular Michael “Murph” Murphy to provide an expanding list of athlete services for AMA and World Championship competitors. “I’ve worked with top racers in both MotoGP and AMA for years on a variety of projects and often get asked for advice and career guidance by the racers. By tying into Hardcard and their corporate structure and client relationships, we can now take on a more formal role and really make a positive contribution to the career development of the racers that are interested in working with us,” said Murph. Said Thompson, “When I looked at what the Hardcard partners have accomplished in motorcycle racing and their business credentials, along with the great relationship I have with Murph, it was clear that this would be a strong step for my racing career. I am pumped to be working with these guys and am looking forward to getting a good program put together for the 2008 season”. About Ben Thompson In 2006, 23-year-old Alaska native Ben Thompson burst on to the AMA Superbike Championship scene at the season finale at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course by qualifying on pole position in only his fourth AMA professional race ever. This incredible accomplishment followed two WERA National Championship Amateur titles in 2005 and two AMA Grand National Amateur Championship titles in 2006. In 2007, Ben competed in the last four AMA Superbike events. At the rain-plagued Mid-Ohio round Ben rode his personal, privateer Suzuki GSX-R1000 to a 14th place finish in the premier Superbike class. At Virginia International Raceway, Suzuki support team Millenium/KWS asked Ben to fill in for regular rider John Haner who was out ill. Ben raced both Superbike and Superstock, finishing 12th place in Superbike and 8th in Superstock. The two final rounds at Road Atlanta and Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca saw Ben in the role of substitute rider again for factory support team Rockwall Honda in the Supersport class. Ben displayed amazing speed, consistency and athleticism, as he competed in three different bike classes, riding two different brands. Over these two rounds, he placed his personal Suzuki as high as 11th place in Superbike, the Rockwall bike in 15th position in Supersport and 7th place in Superstock finishing ahead of many of the full factory riders and capping off a great 2007 effort.
