Monster Energy/Graves/Yamaha Teammates Hayes & Herrin Go Faster In Mid-Ohio Final Qualifying; Hayes Earns Seventh Pole In A Row Lexington, OH July 14, 2012 Cooler morning temperatures and overcast skies at Mid-Ohio worked in the Monster Energy/Graves/Yamaha team’s favor as Josh Hayes and Josh Herrin both improved their qualifying times from yesterday’s provisional qualifying. The two Josh’s will start on the front row for this afternoon’s and tomorrow’s SuperBike races. For Josh Hayes, it was his seventh consecutive pole position out of seven opportunities this season. Commenting on today’s final qualifying, two-time defending AMA Pro National Guard SuperBike champion Josh Hayes said, “I was a little surprised that I was able to put in such a quick time today, since there were a few raindrops out there. I spent a lot of time on the racetrack because I want to be ready for whatever conditions prevent themselves in the race this afternoon.” Josh Hayes’ teammate Josh Herrin said, “Today, we tried a different tire to see what we’re going to go with for the race, and I was able to go a little bit faster than yesterday, so I think we’re going to use that one. It felt pretty good around here this morning, and I’m looking forward to the race.” SuperBike Race 1 from the 2.4-mile, 15-turn Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course will go green later in the day at 3:15 PM EST.
