Nick Wey, 450 Supercross, Team Motosport.com/TiLUBE/Foremost Insurance Over the last decade Nick has had a very solid professional career with several main event holeshot awards, podiums, and countless top ten finishes. This year in St Louis he notched his 150th main event start; something few have accomplished as pro motocross racers. This year he’s back with the TiLUBE team with support from Motosport.com and Foremost Insurance riding the 2012 KX450F. He’s finished inside the top ten and sits fourteenth after having to sit out two rounds due to a hard crash at Indianapolis. He plans to race in New Orleans this Saturday. www.tilube.com Kailub Russell, GNCC XC1 Class, FMF/KTM The GNCC series didn’t start off well for Kailub when he had some back luck in Florida at the season opener and finished 12th. Round 2 was only a few days later in Georgia and he turned his season around in almost one race by taking a commanding win. At Round 3 in North Carolina he won again and he now sits only seven points behind the leader Paul Whibley. The series now heads to South Carolina this weekend. www.kailubrussell.com Winterset BikeNight 2012 marks the third year for the monthly bike nights on the town square in Winterset Iowa. Although some of the city leaders were initially a bit skeptical of inviting thousands of motorcyclist into the small community once a month, the events have proven to be a great supporter of the local businesses without any problems. All profits are donated to local charities and the events continue to grow. April 21 marks the first gathering for 2012 and the excitement builds as announcements are being made daily. This event promotes motorcycling as well as the community and could be duplicated anywhere in the U.S. www.facebook.com/#!/winterset.bikenight Tommy Hayden, AMA Pro Daytona SportBike – Y.E.S. Graves Yamaha Team After an amazing season in 2011 where he finished in 3rd overall in the AMA Pro SuperBike class, Tommy was without a ride in 2012. In Daytona he picked up Garrett Gerloff’s seat when Gerloff got injured. Hayden finished in 7th in the 2012 Daytona 200; not bad considering he had no idea he would even be racing in the 200 until Gerloff got hurt in practice. In testing at Homestead, Tommy picked it up and finished in 3rd fastest. He is adjusting the bike to match his riding style and it looks like he could be ready for another podium come Road Atlanta. www.gravesport.com/racing.html Bill Savino, Manager, Motorcycle Press – American Honda Honda is getting ready for their summer release of their version of an adventure touring bike -the NC700X. The adventure touring segment has seen growth over the past few years and is a bright spot for the motorcycle industry. Honda is showing that they are dialed in to what the market wants with the release of the NC700X and their prior release of the CBR250R. Always a dominant force in motorcycling, it looks like Honda is remembering that fun and price-point are two key ingredients to rebuilding motorcycle sales growth. www.powersports.honda.com Crew at Pit Pass Radio Scott Casber, Tony Wenck, Ed Kuhlenkamp, Jack DeLeon.
