Mark Miller (Aprilia), 58.462, EVO More, from a press release issued by Swan Yamaha: SWAN YAMAHA TOP THE TIMES AT KNOCKHILL The Swan Yamaha team got the weekend off to a flying start at the fifth round of the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship at Knockhill today (Friday) as Tommy Hill set the pace with team-mate Michael Laverty in fourth position ahead of tomorrow’s qualifying session. Hill and Laverty had been formation flying in the opening session of the weekend for the Swan Yamaha team, outpacing their rivals in wet conditions at the Fife circuit. The pair then carried the momentum through to the final session of the day with Hill remaining the fastest rider on circuit. Laverty ended the day fourth fastest with both riders feeling positive about their progress ahead of tomorrow’s qualifying session. Hill said: “It is good to be up at the sharp end again and being fastest shows that we are heading in the right direction for the rest of the weekend. It hasn’t been ideal with the wet conditions, but I am feeling happy with how it has gone and we only made a few tweaks today to the Swan Yamaha. We know that we have the pace in the wet so we will have to see what happens if it changes tomorrow, but I am sure whether it is wet or dry we can roll up and be running where we need to. We are feeling good and we want to keep it going for qualifying.” Laverty said: “I am happy enough with how today has gone and we have mainly focused on trying to find some more rear grip, but other than that the Swan Yamaha feels good. I know that with some slight changes we can make some further improvement tomorrow ahead of qualifying. It has been a trouble free day with no dramas which is a good way to start the weekend. We just need to keep chipping away tomorrow so we can get a good qualifying position.”
