JOHN HINZ APPOINTED AS PRESIDENT OF KTM NORTH AMERICA, INC.

MURRIETA, Calif. – KTM North America Inc. is pleased to announce the appointment of John Hinz as its new President, effective January 1, 2017. As President, Hinz will assume responsibility for the North American subsidiary to include the KTM Group brands KTM, Husqvarna Motorcycles and WP in the U.S. and Canada. Hinz will work closely with current President Jon-Erik Burleson until January 31 to ensure a seamless transition, while Burleson prepares to assume the role as Brand Ambassador for Husqvarna Motorcycles beginning February 1.

Burleson: “I have arrived at a point in my career in which I have decided to embark on new personal challenges. My passion for both the company and individual brands remains strong and true, as well as my personal investment in continuing industry initiatives to support the sport of motorcycling, which tie back to the company’s foundation of success and core of the brands. I’m looking forward to assuming the role of Brand Ambassador with Husqvarna, which allows me to remain involved with a brand that is so near and dear to my heart and stay connected within the motorcycle industry. I have worked closely with John for many years now and I am looking forward to seeing the continued growth and success of the company.”

As a lifelong motorcyclist with nearly 20 years of experience in the motorcycle industry, ten of which have been spent with KTM North America, Hinz has played an instrumental role in the company’s success today. Hinz started in the industry working directly with dealers as a District Sales Manager before transitioning into the role of National Dealer Development Manager. Being an avid enthusiast, his first role at KTM was managing Product Marketing, then taking on North American Research & Development responsibilities as well as overseeing the KTM/HMC RC8 Superbike Racing program. This transitioned into the broader role of Vice President of Group Marketing and Product Development and most recently the position of Managing Director for KTM. His experience in the industry, and with the company, will prove invaluable as the KTM Group further establishes itself as a driving force within the North American market.

Hubert Trunkenpolz, CSO of KTM AG: “The KTM Group has experienced substantial growth over the last several years under Jon-Erik Burleson’s leadership. I am excited for John Hinz to transition into the position of President so he can continue the implementation of the successful business strategy that the KTM North America group has developed with the executive management team. Our branded approach to business provides the opportunity to reach the broader North American motorcycling market, enter new segments and connect to the motorcycling community through our strong dealer network, unique customer events and championship racing efforts. On behalf of the entire KTM AG Board of Directors, we would like to thank Jon-Erik for his over 20 years of hard work and dedication to the company.”
