Historic 50th Annual DAYTONA Supercross Scheduled for Saturday Night, March 7

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (July 9, 2019) – The tradition-rich DAYTONA Supercross, celebrating its 50th running in 2020, is scheduled for Saturday night, March 7 at Daytona International Speedway. The best Supercross riders in the world will battle for a coveted win in the Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship event.

The DAYTONA Supercross, which is the longest continuous Supercross race in America dating back to 1971, will have its course designed by five-time event champion Ricky Carmichael for the 13th consecutive year. While the course will be unveiled at a later date, Carmichael’s course design will feature a nod to the history of the DAYTONA Supercross and will include elements from past DAYTONA courses.

“This year’s track design is going to be something special,” Carmichael said. “With it being the 50th running of the DAYTONA Supercross, we really wanted to bring back some more traditional elements to the course. DAYTONA is known for being the longest Supercross track in the series, but its roughness is also what it’s most recognized for.

“That being said, the footprint will be more traditional where we leave the course natural grass to start the day and let it turn into the most unique Supercross track on the circuit. You can also expect to see some of the old-school jumps, like the tunnel jump and over-the-wall jump from year’s past. I’ve really enjoyed working on this design and can’t wait for the fans to see it in person.”

Tickets for the DAYTONA Supercross will go on sale Sept. 13, with adult general admission tickets starting at $40.
