Attention Baby Boomers!! Historic Moto Gran Prix (HMGP) is looking for you to join us September 17-19, 2010 for an exciting event at Road Atlanta in conjunction with Historic Sports Car Racing, Ltd. (HSR) to run an historic/vintage motorcycle race event and bike show competition. Our objective is to bring classic motorcycles along with classic cars in order to have Goodwood type festivals here in the southeast at some of the most famous road race facilities available. HSR sanctions historic automotive racing in the U.S., including Miller Motorsports Park, Sebring, Road Atlanta and Huchinson Island, Savannah, GA. HMGP is looking for owners of historic, vintage, collectible or former factory race bikes, who would like to bring their bikes back out to show or to race on-track. The race format for all competition will be gentleman’s racing, in four classes and grouped largely by production era. Most of our riders are 40 plus representing a vast range of industries and influence and enjoy displaying and riding their classic motorcycles. Special hospitality is available to all participants at no cost during each event and is included with an HMGP membership. Interested parties who are owners of classic or vintage bikes, or those who own former AMA, World Superbike, MotoGP, WERA and CCS bikes are encouraged to join HMGP and show and/or race their vintage bikes at future events. All machines must meet certain criteria to qualify for race and show competitions. October 29-31, 2010 HMGP will feature a special event and vintage bike show in conjunction with HSR, sponsored by the City of Savannah at Hutchinson Island. Yamaha Motor Corp., USA also continues as a proud regional sponsor of the HMGP. Yamaha recognizes HMGP’s value in showcasing its rich racing heritage and competitive racing spirit. An HMGP Event is one of the best places to see and hear historic Yamaha road race bikes and at the same time, check out the latest Yamaha Motorsports Products on display. Call now or go online and sign up early to secure your space at each event. Motorcycle clubs that would like to have their own bike corral areas at HMGP events, please contact Bill Brown at (404) 379-6091. Membership & event sign-up is easy and now online at: www.historicmotogranprix.com. To register by phone, contact Pam Vershure at 770-365-9805.
