Jordan Suzuki’s Jake Holden got the first race win of his AMA career even though he crashed out of the lead during the Superstock event Sunday at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. Holden was leading on lap 12 of 17 when he crashed exiting Turn Six. The race was immediately stopped with the red flag, and a four-lap restart was called for. During the clean-up, however, it was found that Holden had crashed in oil from another rider’s blown engine. The clean-up of the oil took longer than expected, and officials called the race complete. Officials then ruled that Holden’s crash was not the cause of the red flag, and he was credited with the win over his teammate Aaron Yates and Graves Yamaha’s Ben Bostrom. 2007 AMA Superstock Championship Presented by Dynojet Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca Monterey, California September 16, 2007 Provisional Race Results: 1.
