February 16, 2010 (Marietta, GA) Ducshop Racing will take on the daunting task of entering two 848s for the historic Daytona 200 AMA Pro Racing Daytona SportBike race at the famous Daytona International Speedway on March 5. Riders Jake Holden and Dario Marchetti will compete in the 57-lap race on the Ducshop Ducatis. A veteran of endurance racing, the team, competing as Touring Sport Ducshop Ducati Racing, won three consecutive AMA Moto-GT2 Championships. Ducati test rider Dario Marchetti is a former world endurance racer and Jake Holden has raced Daytona many times as an AMA factory supported rider. The race will give Ducshop a chance to showcase several of its AMA homologated products, including the Ducshop Dual Link, Ducshop 30mm Off-set Triple Clamps and Microtec ECU. Ducshop is also working with Öhlins to test the suspension company’s new 848 30mm cartridge kit. To win the Daytona 200 is a life-long dream of Ducshop founder Mark Sutton. As a former AMA Ducati team manager and engine builder, he is no stranger to the grueling 200-mile race and knows strategy and preparation are the key to success. Once again the 200 mile race will take place under lights, starting at 8pm Eastern time. You can follow the team at www.twitter.com/ducshop or on Facebook at www.facebook.com/ducshop The team is sponsored by gBehavior, Leo Vince, Yoyodyne, Microtec, Sharkskinz, , Operation Home Front, Öhlins USA, DrippinWet Graphics and Touring Sport Ducati. The rest of the team consists of: Frank Shockley as crew chief, Mark Sutton as lead tech, Richard Boyd and Zach Southard on chassis, Matt Sage on tires and Lewis Guthrie on fuel. Tim Robinson is handling logistics, Brian Stokes management and the press officer is Wendy Hogg. Jake Holden Jake Holden shot to fame in 2006 when he signed with the Jordan Suzuki team, competing in AMA Pro American Superbike and Superstock series. In his two seasons with the Jordan team Holden earned a pole position and win at Laguna Seca and an additional three podiums in Superstock plus two seventh place finishes at Daytona and Road America in Superbike. In 2008 Holden switched to the Corona Honda team and scored back-to-back wins at California Speedway and Infineon Raceway, four more top-three finishes and three poles, battling the whole season for the Superstock title, finishing third overall. In 2009, while competing as a privateer in AMA Superbike, on his almost stock personal bike, he was a consistent front runner– finishing as high as four-place at Heartland Park in Topeka. Dario Marchetti Ducati Riding Experience (DRE) chief instructor Dario Marchetti is already a two-time Daytona winner. In 2007 Marchetti won the Motorcycle Races of Champions endurance race on a 1098S. In 2004 he won the Battle of Twins on a Ducati 748RS, having ridden the track twice. And last year the Italian rider helped the Touring Sport Ducshop Team finish on the podium in the 8-hour Moto-GT2 Championship season finale at Daytona. The former World Endurance racer and 500 Moto GP star brings with him a wealth of experience not just in Ducatis but in endurance racing.
