Jake Holden was released from a Danville, Virginia, hospital Monday morning but will not race next weekend at Road Atlanta. Holden suffered a broken right thumb and a broken bone in his left foot as well as extensive bruising when he crashed at about 165 mph following a collision with Jason Pridmore on the front straight at VIR Sunday. The inadvertent contact between Holden’s front wheel and Pridmore’s rear wheel came when Pridmore’s bike hit the rev limiter as he leaned through the finish line kink. Holden’s tire wedged between the rear wheel and muffler of Pridmore’s bike before sending Holden over the high side and tumbling down the race track. The incident caused the Superstock race to be red-flagged and called complete several laps before its scheduled conclusion. Pridmore did not crash.
