April 15, 2010 (Atlanta, GA) –Ducshop Racing is heading to Road Atlanta this weekend to compete in round three of the AMA Daytona Sportbike Championship. American Superbike privateer, Jake Holden, will race the team’s Ducati 848 at the Suzuki Superbike Showdown. Holden hopes to improve on his impressive, albeit short, Daytona Sportbike debut from Daytona International Speedway. At the first round of the series, Holden was running in the top five when he crashed in practice, breaking his thumb, giving him no choice but to sit out the race. His replacement, Taylor Knapp, went on to finish ninth despite having no time to set-up the bike. Fully healed and ready to race, Holden feels confident of a good result at the Braselton track. “I love the torque of the Ducati, it makes my job easier” commented Holden who is used to high revs of his Honda CBR. “We will work this weekend to get the machine working for me. I think the Ducati will work well at this track.” The Daytona Sportbike is the only class Holden will compete in this weekend allowing him and the Ducshop team the chance to focus exclusively on bike set-up. You can follow the team at www.twitter.com/ducshop or on Facebook at www.facebook.com/ducshop The team is sponsored by gBehavior, Leo Vince, Yoyodyne, Microtec, Sharkskinz, , Operation Home Front, Öhlins USA, DrippinWet Graphics and Touring Sport Ducati. The rest of the team consists of: Frank Shockley as crew chief, Mark Sutton as lead tech, Richard Boyd and Zach Southard on chassis, Matt Sage on tires and Lewis Guthrie on fuel. Tim Robinson is handling logistics, Brian Stokes management and the press officer is Wendy Hogg. Jake Holden Jake Holden shot to fame in 2006 when he signed with the Jordan Suzuki team, competing in AMA Pro American Superbike and Superstock series. In his two seasons with the Jordan team Holden earned a pole position and win at Laguna Seca and an additional three podiums in Superstock plus two seventh place finishes at Daytona and Road America in Superbike. In 2008 Holden switched to the Corona Honda team and scored back-to-back wins at California Speedway and Infineon Raceway, four more top-three finishes and three poles, battling the whole season for the Superstock title, finishing third overall. In 2009, while competing as a privateer in AMA Superbike, on his almost stock personal bike, he was a consistent front runner– finishing as high as four-place at Heartland Park in Topeka. 2010 will see him compete in as many AMA Superbike events that his depleted funds can endure.
