Honda CBR600RR Gets Special Allowances From AMA Pro Racing

Subject: Special Allowance Approval Honda CBR600RR/ CBR600RR ABS

In accordance with the policies and procedures outlined in the AMA Pro Road Racing Rule Book; Item 2.30 Performance Balancing and Special Allowance (pg. 41-42)

The following modifications are permitted to the 2009 to current Honda CBR600RR and CBR600RR ABS models, beginning with the next 2014 AMA Pro Road Racing round, scheduled for May 30 – June 1, 2014 at Road America. This applies to the Daytona SportBike class only.

– Standard bore aftermarket pistons may be utilized. The piston must have the same number of piston rings as standard. The piston assembly must meet all current availability criteria.

– The combustion chamber area of the cylinder head may be modified.

– The cylinder bores may be re-plated or recoated as desired, but not enlarged.
