Honda Celebrating 50th Anniversary In Motorcycle Racing In 2009

A half-century ago the founder of Honda Motor Company, Soichiro Honda, led his fledgling company on its first steps toward worldwide prominence as they entered the World Championship Grand Prix racing arena for the very first time at the Isle of Man TT motorcycle races. Back in 1959 there was no guarantee that Honda would ever earn a single podium at the highest levels of racing. But 50 years later, it’s clearly evident the rewards turned out to far outweigh the risks as Honda has accumulated championship after championship, establishing dominating records throughout a vast array of racing venues. Literally speaking, the track record established by Honda Racing transcends all others. This fact will be celebrated around the world as Honda racers commemorate this Golden Anniversary. To celebrate this achievement, Honda Racing has a unique 50th Anniversary Racing Logo that will be displayed by all Honda racing teams, and will be first seen here in he U.S. at the Supercross finale in Las Vegas, and the AMA Road Racing round at Barber Motorsport Park the weekend of May 2-3. Thanks to those far-reaching visions conjured up by Soichiro Honda so long ago, the past 50 years have borne great success in racing that Honda plans to extend for decades to come. About Honda American Honda Motor Co., Inc. is the sole distributor of Honda motorcycles, scooters, ATVs and personal watercraft in the U.S. American Honda’s Motorcycle Division conducts the sales, marketing, and operational activities for these products through authorized Honda dealers.
