Having taken part in the notoriously difficult Suzuka 8-hour race just over a week ago, Honda TT Legends’ John McGuinness and Keith Amor will now return to their road-racing roots for the Ulster Grand Prix. Dubbed the world’s fastest road race, the event takes place this week on a 7.4mile circuit around Dundrod, situated just west of Belfast in Northern Ireland. John McGuinness will return to the historic event after a one-year break with his sights set firmly on victory. The Morecambe Missile has two Ulster wins under his belt and will be aiming to add to that tally this year. Keith Amor has an impressive five-year history at the UGP, from achieving the title of fastest newcomer in 2006 to securing six podiums from six starts including two wins at last year’s event. Both riders will compete for the Honda TT Legends in three races the Dundrod 150 Superbike race on Thursday 11 August and two Superbike races on Saturday 13 August. John McGuinness Suzuka was an amazing experience but pretty tough so it will be good to be back on familiar turf. I didn’t make it to the Ulster GP last year due to other commitments so to be coming back and racing with the Honda TT Legends is doubly exciting for me. It’s one of the fastest and most technical races out there and I can’t wait to be part of it again. I’ve won there before and I’d really like to get a few more. This is definitely going to be one we’ll enjoy. Keith Amor The Ulster GP is my favourite mass-start road race it’s so different to the TT because we all start together. The racing at Ulster in 2010 was the best we had all year so I’m hoping it’s going to be just as good this year. It will be nice to get back on the road racing superbike and back on a familiar track at a familiar event. I’m really looking forward to it and I can’t wait to get out there.
