Honda may be enjoying great results in MotoGP, but
the Honda Racing Corp. (HRC) engineers are still looking for ways to go faster…HRC test rider Stefan Bradl raced a modified RC213V
at Jerez, which was surely an important factor in his impressive ride to 10th
place, in his first race since last year’s Valencia GP. Marc Márquez then tested the bike the day after the
race.
Bradl’s racebike, which he evaluated back to back
with a conventional 2019 RC213V throughout the Jerez weekend, featured a frame
covered with a carbon-fiber skin. The frame itself was also different, with
recesses in the main beam sections, presumably to retain longitudinal stiffness
while increasing lateral flex …
